- Fremantle Market Street Stroll
If you are in Fremantle – the first thing to do will be to walk around Fremantle iconic Market street that goes on as a South Terrace. There are so many beautiful buildings facade and a gorgeous streetscape to see. Fremantle is like no other area in Perth, mostly due to its architecture and characters you can meet on the streets.
2. Visit Fremantle Visitor’s Centre
The friendly staff here is always happy to provide you with a map and to advise on the best activities to do. You can also find various coupons for various admission tickets in one of the brochures you can find here.
3. See the beach and the port from the hill and visit Fremantle Round House, which is the oldest public building in Western Australia. If you come here at 1 pm, you can witness the cannon fire, you can even be lucky to trigger the shot!

5. Visit Fremantle Prison
Some people may say “if you have not been to Fremantle Prison – you have not been to Fremantle!”
They have a range of very interesting and engaging tours here that you can join to immerse yourself in the rich history of Fremantle.
6. Discover Maritime History
Discover Fremantle’s history in the Maritime Museum.
Fremantle is all about the sea and Maritime history and the best place to learn about it is to visit the Maritime Museum. They run various exciting exhibitions throughout the year and you can check out what’s on their webpage here.

7. Shop Italian Groceries
We also recommend visiting an iconic Galati Grocery shop in Fremantle to shop some imported Italian produce.
This historical Fremantle’s family run business knows everything about Italian Good Food and produce! Walking through the store shelf is like visiting Italy for a moment. You can also find great WA fresh produce for a bargain here!
8. Eat Italian!
Fremantle is all about Italian food and you definitely must visit one of the iconic restaurants here.

Fremantle is a mecca for arts, music and culture. Do not miss a chance to see one of the most popular WA public sculpture here in the Fremantle Fishing Harbour.
11. Visit Fremantle Markets.
Fremantle Markets are open on weekends and the best time to visit will be early mornings to avoid the crown and to shop some fresh finds!
